BLITZ A PALERMO: IN MANETTE LA MOGLIE DELLO STORICO PADRINO SALVINO MADONIA: REGGEVA LE SORTI DEL CLAN E STAVA “RIORGANIZZANDO” IL DOPO RIINA

COLPITO IL MANDAMENTO DI RESUTTANA: 25 ARRESTI

Da ansa.it

Fed Chair Janet Yellen Urges Congress to Monitor U.S. Debt As She Steps Down (NOW A Warning??)

Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen’s final speech to Congress (Joint Economic Commitee)  reminded me of the scene in the movie Death Becomes Her where Meryl Streep swallows a magic potion and  Isabella Rosselini then says “Now a warning.”
Yes, Yellen warned Congress that they should monitor the US debt load, now at $20.6 trillion, up from $9.5 trillion in Q2 2008.  She also called on Congress to adopt policies that will promote investment, education and infrastructure spending.
Yes, US public debt outstanding has more than doubled since Team Bernanke/Yellen began quantitative easing (QE) back in September 2008.
pubdebtfed
Of course, The Fed buying US Treasuries helped fuel the enormous growth in US debt leaving The Federal Reserve as the largest owner (by far) of US Treasury debt.

Why didn’t Yellen mention declining M2 Money Velocity (GDP/M2 Money Stock)?

And why didn’t Yellen mention that The Fed killed-off Treasury volatility?

Notice that Yellen issued this warning as she is being replaced as Fed Chair and a new President (Trump).
At least Yellen didn’t say “Bottom’s up!”

"For The First Time In Modern History" US Government Debt Will Surpass Household Debt

Last week, rating agency DBRS raised a red flag when it calculated that in the past decade average US wages have risen by only 5.7%, while consumer debt over the same period rose 60% more, or 9.3%. However, while the US household's reliance on debt to fill in the income gaps is hardly news, on Monday JPMorgan found another, even more concerning debt inflection point: household debt, fast as it may be rising, is about to be eclipsed for the first time ever by the even faster rising federal government debt.
As JPM writes in its weekly market recap, prior to the Financial Crisis, household debt relative to federal government debt hit a high of 3 to 1 times. Since then, a combination of bank credit  tightness and consumer prudence has sharply limited the growth in household debt, with liabilities increasing just 4% since 3Q 2008. However, JPM adds, "the same cannot be said of the federal government, with liabilities increasing almost 150% over the same period and nearly reaching household debt levels for the first time in modern history."
JPM continues:
On top of that, the CBO projects that, even excluding the impact of tax cuts, government debt levels will continue to march upward over the course of the next 10 years, ultimately hitting $25.5 trillion by the end of 2027.

While this does not point to an impending crisis, it does mean that, should another downturn occur, the government would be far less able to come to the rescue as it did in 2008. It also means that while tax cuts may take place today, it becomes all the more probable that they will become tax increases or spending cuts in the future, with tax increases likely to hit higher income households and elderly households being more vulnerable to spending cuts.
Finally, "this means that while consumers have taken steps on their own account to ensure a smaller debt burden, older and wealthier households should be particularly wary of the potential impact of rising government debt on their finances" especially once the next government - far more likely to be of the "wealth redistribution persuasion" - decides to do just that..

RYANAIR RISCHIA SANZIONI FINO A 5 MILIONI

Rig For Stormy Weather

Rig For Stormy Weather - Gary Christenson

What storm? The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DOW) reached another all-time high. Interest rates in the U.S. are yielding multi-decade lows, some say multi-century lows. Trillions of dollars in global sovereign debt have negative yield and European junk bonds yield less than 10 year U.S. treasuries. “Official” unemployment is low. Borrowing is inexpensive. Things are good, so they say!
I Doubt It!
Do you believe the above is a fair and accurate representation of our economic world? If so, how do you explain the following?
  • Global debt exceeds $200 trillion and is rising rapidly. This massive debt will NOT be paid back in currencies with 2017 purchasing power. Debt MUST be rolled over in continually DEVALUING dollars, euros, yen and pounds.
  • The financial system rolls over maturing debt, adds more, and pretends repayment will not be problematic. Those who hope this will remain true ignore the lessons of history, including sky-high interest rates in the late 1970s, the Asian and Long Term Capital crises in the late 1990s, many defaults and hyperinflations in the last century and the credit-crunch-recession-market-crash of 2008.
  • Official inflation statistics show that consumer price inflation is low – supposedly in the two percent range. However, if you pay for health care, hospital bills, prescription drugs, Obamacare, beer, cigarettes, college tuition, fresh vegetables, processed food, auto insurance, and many other necessities, you know better. The Chapwood Indexagrees with your experience. Their statistics show consumer price inflation is much higher than official numbers.
  • National debt – the official debt of the U.S. government exceeds $20.5 trillion – more than the U.S. Gross Domestic Product. The debt has increased exponentially (straight line on a log scale chart) for the past century.

  • Interest paid on the official national debt is approximately $500 billion per year and climbing. Congress is influenced by the financial elite and will not operate within a balanced budget. Therefore the U.S. will pay more interest each year.

  • U.S. government expenditures increase every year. Since annual revenues are less than expenses by a trillion or so, the shortfall is borrowed. Hence national debt rises every year and interest must be paid on ever-increasing debt.

  • Debt, out-of-control expenses, and economic craziness are universal in our current system. Race, gender, and political party make no material difference. Why should they? Corporations, politicians, lobbyists, military contractors, Big Pharma and individuals want more dollars to spend every year and the government satisfies everyone by adding to the debt load.

  • Debt and currency in circulation rise far more rapidly than growth of the economy which must support the debt. HENCE PRICES RISE.
  • Rising consumer prices are essential to a financialized economy. Do you remember prices in 1970? If you don’t, examine the following overview.

WHAT COULD IMPROVE OUR FINANCIAL WORLD?
  • Balanced budgets and honest accounting at all levels of government. Not likely.
  • Honest currency units, currency units created from productive effort, not units conjured out of “thin air” by central banking and commercial banking fractional reserve policies. Dreaming!
  • Global peace. Military and defense expenses could be reduced to a fraction of current levels. Redirect those resources toward more productive purposes. All but impossible!
  • Political honesty, absence of corruption and effective, non-intrusive government. Hmmmmm. Maybe we should write to our congressmen.

WHAT COULD MAKE OUR ECONOMIC WORLD WORSE, BUT WE HOPE DOES NOT OCCUR?

  • Wars with North Korea, Iran, Russia, China, and others.
  • Hyperinflation in western countries, because central banks will be forced to “print” an almost unlimited number of currency units to address their self-created financial problems.
  • Derivatives implosion (remember 2008), nuclear war, electromagnetic pulse weapons, and global plague.

PROGNOSIS:

The world will muddle through its problems in spite of wars, pestilence, corruption, central bankers, and self-serving politicians. Based on centuries of economic history, we should expect increasing financial trauma, periodic market crashes, devalued currencies, debt defaults, and … that someone else will be blamed.

WHAT CAN WE DO FOR SELF PROTECTION?

  • Realize that markets rise and fall. The stock markets have enjoyed a long bull market while many commodities are relatively inexpensive. Expect a reversal, perhaps soon.
  • Buy silver and gold. Why buy metals? They have been real money and a store of value for centuries. They are currently undervalued compared to total debt and the stock market. See below.

Graph silver prices divided by the official U.S. national debt. Silver prices have increased less rapidly than exponentially increasing national debt for 25 years, and are currently selling for multi-decade lows compared to national debt. National debt will increase 8 – 10% per year and silver prices will rise more rapidly in coming years.

Graph silver prices divided by the S&P 500 Index. Silver prices are currently near a two-decade low when compared to the S&P 500 Index. Silver prices will rise and the S&P will correct, possibly soon.

Based on decades of history, silver prices are inexpensive compared to exponentially increasing national debt and stock market prices. Silver prices will rise compared to both, perhaps soon.

CONCLUSIONS:
  • Debt and government expenses are excessive and too large for the economy to support. However, they exponentially increase.
  • Positive change is possible but given the massive economic resistance from debt, central banker intrusion into markets, and over-valued stock markets, significant improvement in revenues, debt loads and balance sheets seems unlikely.
  • Expect a reversal in stock market prices. Expect gold and silver prices will rebound much higher in 2018. Guaranteed – no! Likely – yes!
  • Silver and gold will protect your savings, retirement assets and purchasing power from continual currency devaluations, central bank policy errors, and excessive government debt.

The Cost Basis of our Economy is Spiraling Out of Control

What will it take to radically reduce the cost basis of our economy?
If we had to choose one "big picture" reason why the vast majority of households are losing ground, it would either be the stagnation of income or the spiraling out of control cost basis of our economy, that is, the essential foundational expenses of households, government and enterprise.
Clearly, both rising costs and stagnating income cause households to lose ground, i.e. their income buys fewer goods and services every year.
I've often covered the dynamics of stagnating income for the bottom 95%, and real-world inflation, i.e. a decline in purchasing power.
But neither of these dynamics fully describes the relentless upward spiral of the cost basis of our economy, that is, the cost of essentials and the foundations of the economy: education, healthcare, energy and labor.
These expenses are pushing the costs of virtually every good and service, public and private, higher in a self-reinforcing spiral. The costs of education are spiraling out of control, stripping households of income as an entire generation is transformed into debt-serfs by student loan debt. The soaring costs of healthcare are a core driver of higher costs in the education complex (and government in general), and to cover these higher costs, counties raise property taxes, which add additional cost burdens to households and enterprises as rents rise.
Rising rents push the cost structure of almost every enterprise and agency higher.
Then there's the asset inflation created by central bank ZIRP (zero interest rate policy) which has inflated a second echo-bubble in housing that has pushed home ownership out of reach of many, adding demand for rental housing that has pushed rents into the stratosphere in Left and Right Coast cities.
Let's look at a few charts that illustrate the relentless rise in the cost basis of our economy:
Do you reckon these two charts are connected--soaring costs and ballooning administrative payrolls?
Student loan debt is soaring above $1 trillion, guaranteeing profits to lenders and debt-serfdom to the students exiting with degrees that are in over-supply, i.e. possessing little scarcity value in an over-credentialed economy:
The echo housing bubbles in many locales exceed the nosebleed valuations of the previous bubble:
And how do we pay for these spiraling out of control costs? By borrowing more, of course:
Courtesy of Lance Roberts, here's a chart depicting how households are filling the widening gap between income and expenses with debt. This is another self-reinforcing spiral of rising costs, as debt accrues interest, adding costs at every turn of the spiral.
What will it take to radically reduce the cost basis of our economy? A fundamental re-ordering that breaks up all the cartels and quasi-monopolies that push prices higher even as they deliver lower quality goods and services would be a good start.
